I purchased a Virtual Private Network to access Google Map, using the Street View Mode to randomly browse Los Angeles. I fix my perspective in a street scene of the gallery Make Room to frame a street view, and take a screenshot of it ( During this screen capture of the Street View image, a cache error occurs repeatedly, due to the VPN over the China’s Great Cyber Firewall. I have retained multiple screenshots of the cache error). Then, I use a digital camera to rephotograph the ocean view screenshots, and proceed sketching the photographed view on book pages of Quotations from Chairman Mao. I also take a Polaroid photo of the screenshot. A month later, I come to Make Room, using the same perspective from the Google Street View to make video and take photographs. In the end, the print of the street view and mulfunction screenshots, digital photos, sketches, Polaroids and street view photos and the video will be exhibited together.
